An issue mirroring files [FIXED] - Network News
  Posted by: Hfx-Rebel on 03-07-2009 @ 18:42
This News Item has been viewed 408,999 times
EDIT:
The issue appears to be resolved...please allow some time for the various Site Staff to go through the process of mirroring the files which no doubt have accumulated over the weekend.

Thank you for your patience
The FileFront Staff

As some of you may have noticed, we are experiencing a glitch with the mirroring of files, and this appears to be Network-wide; It appears as though everything goes through and the process is successful, however, the host site displays an error with the File ID. We hope that this is cleared up soon, but, we are in the midst of the weekend, so at this moment it is anybodies guess as to the ETA for the fix. This issue not only includes files, but also new Polls, File of the Week, Featured Files...

The issue has been reported to everyone that needs to be alerted, and a few that don't...I even went across the street and told my neighbor...he was no help though frown Rest assured that when this issue is corrected, this News post and it's header will be edited.

Just a note in closing, as with the Network Insider, this news post is Network Wide, so please, lets limit the site specific comments as no one will know which site you are referring to...

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.

-The FileFront Administration.

Well my guess is it's a test... A test for what though, I have no idea... However it seems to be on every 'files' sight, so something's up.

We are aware of the issue with the files; If some of you are wondering why this news post originally had 'test' as the description, it is because I was testing the news post before I typed it up...

Well at the moment I can't see ANY files on LotRFiles, but I guess you could search for the files and download them, but I'm not 100% sure.

This could mean the File you are looking for has been deleted (and possibly replaced by a newer version). Please use our internal search engine to try and find the file you were looking for!

Any kind of work in the networking field takes time.
"Tedious" is probably a better word though.

@#12: That's a joke right?

@#15: I don't recall there being a difference. File Front is in charge of hosting the entire "FileNetwork". The "FileNetwork" is merely a term used to define the sites that you see listed on the right pane of this webpage under "The Network" from Gaming Today to Bridge Commander, Jedi KnightFiles to FileFront Gaming Forums... thats the network. It's all FileFront's network.

@#19: You might want to put that in all caps, emboldened, and underscored. smile jk

That file was purposely deleted because of warez. They never bothered with to remove it from the file listing . . .

If the Filefront tech guys are any indication, this could take a few months . . .

I still like to see them as two seporate entities, just as they were before the take-over but you're right, there is really no difference anymore between Filefront and Filesnetwork. Too bad Filefront's own incompetence has crossed over to Filesnetwork (streaming video anyone ??) . . .

They being me. Actually for your information, misinformed individual, the file was deleted completely..for some reason OPS never deleted it fully, therefore there is no problem so stop attempting to instigate one. It is not like its going to throw the world 10 degrees of its axis by being there, i.e. it is not a major issue - so quit nitpicking about a deleted file that was deleted months ago. And your comments regarding incompetence are quite frankly disrespectful.

Did you by chance happen to read comment #24 ??

Apperantly not, 'cause you would've seen that I am merely responding to an earlier notion of the same deleted file . . .

I did see it. I read all the comments and its not appreciated that little trivial nitpicks bits are being discussed, off topic, in public like this. Not to mention the "incompetency" bull being aired here, I have my own views about certain things on this network but there is no reason to publish those in public where you provide a wagon for others to jump on. If you trying to acheive a little publicity then congratulations.

Maybe meant to delay.

for Us file posters, it is a blessing in disguise, cause we can Preview the file Listing Before the public can see it, and if we have forgot something, we can find it or fix it.

Dang, this sucks.

I would complain at you, but this is free, so that would be pretty stupid.

Good luck fixing the problem.

''I would complain at you, but this is free, so that would be pretty stupid.''

Thats most likely the first smart thing said in this comment section.
Yes, people, the Filesnetwork is FREE. It does not charge you monthly, you do not pay per download, you do not pay per upload. Each game's files site has it's own staff, that do not get paid. They do it cause they want to. If you dislike it go away. I bet everyone complaining here has at least one of the gaming sites bookmarked.

That's what Filefront staff has been saying for the past five months for certain issues, yet a fix has still to be presented . . .

Well, there is nothing we can do. It is up to the tech team to do it, and they have a pile of problems they too have to deal with.

That is why I say, just keep cool and something good will come up...hopefully.

Apprentice, all you've been doing is whining all this time, the tech team are fixing this as we speak, period. What can the rest of the staff do, we can wait and get all of our posts ready and waiting to be posted when all of this is fixed to make sure nothing has been left out over these 2 days.

We are doing our job to make sure our sites will be kept up to date during this downtime of files, all we ask you, the members to do, is just to be patient, as this is just as fustrating as it is for you as it is for us staff.

So I ask you all to please be patient, like most of you have done so far, which I'd like to thank you for, there are just a few that are causing the staff an extra headache which isn't really needed right now.

And as for you Apprentice, most of the fixes the tech team make, you don't realise, that could be down to you either being ignorant and taking things for granted (please refer to the 100% correct comment #38 by arrowthing) or you just honestly don't see them. So please be patient.

If I write them down, would you still be able to see them, or are you so ignorant that they would probably be too small for you to say that have an effect. And let me give you one example, which is now, the problem has been more or less fixed with files coming back online, and it was done today (Monday) the day that was promised for this big issue to be fixed. So there's just one example for you, so stop moaning about the staff and tech team and enjoy coming to FileFront, if you continue this childish behaviour which is starting to annoy me and most staff then maybe we'll have to put you in the list of fixes for the tech team. wink

Thank you for your patience.
