This News Item has been viewed 66,651 times

Welcome to all for the eleventh version of the Gamefront Network Update - Files Section the second part of the weekly news post. The Files part of the Weekly update includes the latest Files that has been posted on the Network Sites over the past week including many different Modifications, Mini Mods, Skins, Vehicles, Starships and much more. A lot of smaller mods including lots of maps and Starships for Armada, Bridge Commander and ST Legacy! I have also decided to start a new section this week called "Featured Files" which will showcase files that have been added to the network over the past few years that people may want to see, this week I've used examples that I know of (with the Help of Digz for the LOTR File). Please submit any recommendations that you have for this to the below email

Just like the former Insider we would still like your suggestions Remember; if you see something that you would like to be added to the Insider, or you have any suggestions that you think may improve the Network Update then simply drop me an email at Danny[at]filefront[dot]com (please put "Network Update" as the subject though smile ). If you like the Network Update please feel free write a comment as I would love to hear any critism, support or otherwise(constructive though please as this is the only way that I know how good or bad the insider is and it would help me to improve this further).

Armada 2: Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations
We are happy to announce that we have a new patch ready for public release - 3.1.4.
The newest patch for Fleet Operations can be seen as a foundation for a future patch. We decided to release 3.1.4 early on and pulled some bigger features we initially planned for this release, we'd like to invest more time into before giving them to you.

Croesus, who did a outstanding job for Fleet Operations in the past as voice actor now joined us as a full staff member. Some of his latest work can be heard in this patch in the form of new voice sets. On the subject of audio..have you heard the name FMOD Ex? No? I am sure you still have heard of it already. FMOD Ex is the sound engine being used in games like Starcraft II, Bioshock, Crysis and many others. Thanks to it's developers making FMOD Ex available to non-commercial projects, Fleet Operations now uses the very same engine as replacement for the flawed and now outdated sound system that Armada 2 came with.

That is not all. The fighter ship AI has been vastly improved. Fighters do now directly support their fighter carriers. Fighter stay much closer to their carriers and attack what their carrier attacks. Also many new interesting balancing changes are part of this patch including a lot of new officer abilities or repair ship usage. I can only recommend you read in the changelog below for some details.

Bridge Commander: Sovereign001 HQ planet textures 1.0
Here is Sovereign 001's HD Planet Texture pack, this will change most of the planets within the game to that of textures of a much higher definition, bigger than 4096x4096 which will mean that you will need a very good graphics card to run them. These new planet textures include better clouds, better atmospheres and a lot better than the stock versions of the same planets, infact you could probably go as far as saying almost photo realistic!. However be warned however the file size of the modification is over 800MB!

Stock planets in bridge commander were nice, in the beginning.. Beautiful mods like kobayashimaru, solaris (sun mod), etc.. were starting to obliterate the old planets. Screenshots with planets were almost a no go, because of the bad textures.. This texture mod will change that.

Images of planets are taken of Google Images of a texture size of more than 4096pixels large. SO yes, this will ask a strong gfx card, but no worries, your pc will not explode. The nano fx that is included with the big mods like kobayashimaru is also altered in this mod. Creating better clouds and atmosphere!

Battle for Middle Earth: The Elven Alliance: Community Edition
Version 1.2 contains the highly anticipated Elven AI! Every skirmish map now can utilize the Elven AI for fun and exciting battles! In addition, the hard level AI difficulty has become increasingly more challenging. If that was not enough, fourteen new skirmish maps have been added (credit: _Haldir_) and seven EA campaign maps have also been added. Also, custom voice files for Glorfindel, Celeglin, and Sentinels from Woody End have been added to the mod (credit: _Haldir_, Valaquenta10, and {AE}Manveru). Finally, besides more balance changes and bug fixes, this mod version comes with a fully functional installer (credit: Nertea).

A few things to note:

* You do NOT need the first version (1.0) or second version (1.1) of TEA:CE installed to play this mod.
* The .zip download package contains a folder called "information documents". This folder contains the following: (1) complete changelist for each version, (2) readme document containing terms of usage and credits, (3) installation instructions if the installer does not work, (4) and the TEA:CE icon image.
* PLEASE read through the readme file contained in the "information documents" folder.
* If you have any questions about installation or have problems running the mod, please use this topic in our forums.
* You can view the official Elven Alliance forums here.
* Join the official Elven Alliance Community Edition online game section here.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: STARGATE Horizon Of the Universe
Here is a Stargate SG-1 based modification for GTA San Andreas. The mod itself includes the main part of the program a stargate, which in the game will actually transport you to other planets where you can find ships including the Ha'tak and Death Glider. There are also other space ships available in the mod including an F302, BC303 (Prometheus) and the Puddle Jumper (Ancient Ship from SG Atlantis)./ There are also a "Tel'tac" cargo vessel as well as an "Al'Kesh" mid range bomber both from the Goa'uld side which both look brilliant in san andreas. All of these are completely flyable in the game and even go into space and even other planets!

The weapons from Stargate are also included with this modification including a Goa'Uld Staff Weapon, Zat'Nik'Ktel, Goa'Uld Staff Canon, FN P90 and the MP5. Although the Goa'uld weapons only fire projectiles unfortunately but they do look brilliant in the game itself however!. This modification also includes the SGC as well as several other planets that can be either dialed to via the stargate as well as a few easter eggs (which you will have to find yourself wink

Jedi Knight III: JKA Character Reskin Mod v1.1
Oh god, how am I going to review this... Today, CommanderPeral brings us a huge pack, that reskins A LOT of skins. Several skins have had their clothes grayscaled or desaturated, others (like the Gonk) have been reskinned in entirely different ways. This is, in short, the continuation of CommanderPeral's previous JKA Character Reskin Mod

Now, usually, I'd go by this skin by skin, except if I did that now this review would be so long nobody would read it anyways. So, instead, here's what the author says this mod does: As I said on my review of the previous version, I like some of them better than others, but there's definitely valid stuff in here. In short: if you've ever wanted to see a better Gonk, Kyle in jedi clothing, a more shiny Boba Fett, grayscaled Sith, and more, give this mod a download. wink

Jedi Knight II: SoL Skin Pack
Well, my goodness, the SoL clan have certainly been busy! This colossal skinpack contains at least twice as many, of not closer to three times as many skins as base JK2 does! Obviously it would be impractical for me to review each and every skin here, so I will review the pack as a whole as best I can. I should point out that although most of these skins appear to have been made by SoL clan members themselves, there are various models made by numerous authors which have either been re skinned or included in their original form, as well as a few skins by other authors that also appear to have been included in their original form.

Anyway, as I said, there are a vast amount of skins here, reflecting the various personalities and personal preferences of the SoL clan members. No obviously many of these skins wont hold much interest for the average player, since they are tailored to each clan member, but there are quite a few cool skins in here that anyone could use or that do not have any particular clan references. My own personal favourites include the black and white Desann (Darth Ferocious) and theCloaked Shadowtrooper (cshadowtrooper), the skins called Skamback, Rechiss and Light Master were also pretty cool looking.

What is more, many of the skins also have custom sounds and most if not all are also available as bots via the bot menu, which is pretty impressive considering the number of different skins included in this pack. Unbelievably most if not all of these skins also have team support, with some of the skins being quite different from their default team counterparts. I was particularly impressed with the Mystic Desann skin, which has a very cool animated image on its back, and a Jedi Knight logo on the front of its armour, which is a nice little touch. Personally I don’t think I have ever seen an animated image on a skin before, so that is a pretty unique and striking feature. I also liked the blue team version of the Galak Mech, which is an interesting steel coloured variation on the original, with a new look visor that makes it look even more menacing than before!

Armada 2: Warning buoy
A small Warning buoy that can be added to a neutral AI team (preferably team 0 and close to the danger itself) to provide a warning and remind people of nearby dangers. It comes with the messege empty by default, so you can add one to fit the requirements.

Not exactly an important concept due to the nature of the game, but it adds a bit of realism to a map and was done multiple times on the show by several ships. This one is custom made for the role and won't cause any unwanted side effects, like shooting the enemy, having crew, sending out Tachyon pings, ect.

Dawn of War: Rank 60 Wargear(ranked compatible)
Hi everybod, I've finally completed my rank 60 wargear mod for all races. I have seperated the SGA files so you can choose which ones you want to use and I even have made two versions of the Chaos lord, one with his daemon sword and one without. The normal tactical, assault and devastator marines uses the "barding of ultramar" which is the tactical squad rank 60 model since they all share the same model at rank 0. The force commander and the sargeants also use the same model since they also work like that at rank 0.

I have also included an updated version of the librarian from the bonus codes(no worries there aren't any legal issues here) Installation instructions and readme is included in the download.
You can view all the models included in this mod here: http://dow2.info/Info:Ranks

Jedi Knight III: Atomic Thermal Detonator v1.0
Do you experience players spamming thermal dets too often? Do you get thousands of thermal dets thrown at you without interruption every single day? Are you masochistic? Do you enjoy playing at 1 fps? If so, this is the mod for you! What this mod does is modify the special effects for the explosion of the thermal detonator to look like an atomic blast. I did not increase the area of effect or damage because I wanted to see how this mod did first.

So maybe I was slightly overly sarcastic on that intro. This mod increases the size of the thermal det explosion SIGNIFICANTLY. That is - the explosion looks bigger, it isn't actually bigger damage-wise. Obviously there are a couple of disadvantages to an explosion of this size:
-If a thermal det explodes near you, you'll be blinded with an inescapable mass of white glowies for a few seconds.
-It costs a lot of FPS.

Knights of the Old Republic II: K2 Malak and Revan robe pack
A K2 version of my Malak and Revan robe pack. Nothing much more to say, though keep in mind Darth Malak and Jawless Malak have very few animation, default attack and some force power animations like push or storm will work. Darth and Jawless also don't have animations for blocking critical srtike, flurry or power attack. Blame Obsidian for not putting him animations in, maybe someone will fix that one day. Jedi Malak works well enough though.

Left 4 Dead 2: Guns Guns Guns
Weapon mod for Left 4 Dead 2
Had wrong APP id for L4D2 and contains some final tweaks

Brings alot of the CSS weapons into the regular game, plus adds a few new fully autoshotgun and small tweaks to other weapons. AWP replaces military sniper increased damage to make up for fire rate decrease
Sig552 replaces UZI increased accuracy and damage but lower fire rate. MP5 replaces silenced SMG more or less the same stats. Rifle replaced model with desert rifle is now fully auto shotgun with 20 round clip and 5 shot per second fire rate watch your ammo will burn very quickly(BRING ON THE HORDE!!!!)

AK-47 increased damage, Desert Rifle has M16 model increased accuracy (real gun in military is burst fire), Pump Shotguns increased clip to 10 lower pellet count high damage (00 buck type shot), Auto Shotguns high pellet low damage but deadly at close range {7 shot type rounds), Pistols same just faster reload and M60 pretty much a super weapon 240 round clip and fires 50 cal pistol ammo accuracy very low standing or moving requires you to crouch to have any real sort of accuracy. If you run it out of ammo you will drop it if you reload before that happens you will keep it.

Armada 2: Federation Asgard class
This folder contains the Asgard class. I wanted to create a ship, that looked the way I would have the Intrepid class to look like. The Asgard Class was designed by Starfleet to take on the role as a long range explorer and in time of need, a powerful battlecruiser. The design does resemble the Intrepid class as well as the Prometheus class, but is significant larger with an overal length of 522 meters. The ships of this class are outfitted with the weapons, shields and ablative armour of the latest technology.

Armada 2: Legacy Class (also for demo)
This is an original design that I was going to submit to Star Trek Online's Design the Next Enterprise contest, but since I'm under 21 I'm not eligible. This design combines design aspects from the Prometheus, Intrepid, and Akira designs. It is slightly stronger than the Sovereign class, takes longer to build, costs more resources, and has an additional torpedo. The weapons hardpoints are named according to their function (see readme)

So, this is basically the same ship as Version 2.0, but with cleaner and crisper textures made by Jetfreak.

Jedi Knight III: zz_Real_JA_Scope.pk3
I'm an insomniac and I'm okay, I work all night and I sleep all day. I cut down trees, I eat my lunch, I...something something something...SUSPENDERS AND A BRA! ...Right, today we have a modification of the sniper scope: I tried to create something close to what we saw in the 2 episode of the saga when Zam Wesell shooting at Obi-Wan

I have to admit, it's been ages since I last saw episode 2 (everyone knows Star Trek is far superior anyway, right? stick out tongue), but that scope does vaguely ring a bell. Essentially, as you can see on the screenshots, it has various red markings, surrounded by a black ring of sniper-rifle-ness. A nice addition: one can also vaguely make out areas outside the scope, so your vision's slightly less limited when sniping. Either way, this is one of those things where you'll know by the screenshots if you want it, so without any further ado, verily shalt thee now proceed to get it if thou doth verily want it. Truthfully, it doth do what it doth sayeth on the tin.

Jedi Knight III: Thaede Wolphe - Version 1
Quick note: apologies to all you folks waiting longer than usual for your files to be reviewed - I'm afraid we're building up a bit of a backlog. We're working on it. wink Today, cwt624 brings us Thaede Wolphe - a reskin of the Jedi model. When I first saw this file in the queue Q, I went "Oh, look, yet another Jedi recolor..." - I turned out to be wrong though stick out tongue

Thaede Wolphe - The skin itself looks like a special ops Jedi of sorts, to be honest. As you can see on, well, nearly all of the screenshots, it's essentially the Jedi model wearing dark clothing and a breastplate. I have to admit it's very well done and actually looks quite good though. Additionally, the hair has been darkened, again looking pretty good. There are also two team skins, which you can see on screenshots 6 & 7. In all, this is by far the part of the file I liked most.

Old Thaede Wolphe - As you can see on the last screenshot, there was supposed to be an old version of Thaede Wolphe. But alas, something, somewhere, went horribly wrong. The old version is unusable due to the simple fact that not a single texture on it works. It is in fact a giant, oozing mass of white & black textureless horror. So yeah, would like to see that fixed stick out tongue

E-11 reskin - To complete the pack, there's also an optional E-11 reskin in here. This isn't the most exciting thing though, as it seems to be it's basically a darkened E-11. In all, definitely promising, but a second version fixing that textureless mass of oozing death and decay would be nice. wink

Star Trek: Legacy: Beholden Class Escort Ship
This ship certainly took me by surprise when I saw it. For the sake of the review I'll start with basics, though. The ship looks very good. A powerful little escort class with features liked to the Defiant, but an all round body shape more like a Marquis Raider. The large engines and the deflector together looks to be finely detailed as when you turn on the engines, you can peer into the engines from the rear and admire the 3D values of the ship.

As for 3D values, that brings me to the part I've been looking forward to. This is the first ship I've ever flown that has a modelled inside. Huge credit to the developer ayesu, here, as he's thought about and intricately designed the ship. Thats a real treat for Legacy users also to fly a great looking ship that actually has some thought into what rooms are where. However, when there is no in-ship feature in Legacy, as you'll find in Bridge Commander, the inside becomes disappointingly obselete, unless you fly into the ship using free-cam. Alternatively there is the Beholdenpers.odf version revealing the inner workings of the ship.

Star Trek: Legacy: Husnock Dreadnought
Thanks for downloading the Husnock Dreadnought - featured in the TNG episode The Survivors. The race that built these were never seen and indeed this vessel is a recreation by Kevin Uxbridge. The Enterprise posed no threat to the shields of this vessel and the partical cannon this ship has was immensely powerful. The effect of the weapon is impossible for Legacy, but I have included new weapon textures.

Another nice ship from Rudianos, and its been as well ported as his previous releases. Its balanced accurately, though the big drawback is its quality. For such a big ship to have so little detail is a big worry and next to a Galaxy or Sovereign ths ship looks rather disappointing, Its not a ship made for Legacy and it shows, do download with this in mind. Nevertheless its a nice addition to the game, and it allows players to add another dimension to the game with a new race. Kudos!

Star Trek: Legacy: NiHydron Warship
Here we have the NiHydron warship from the Year of Hell Episode of Voyager. Complete with all new weapons - we can now re-enact this great battle. Enjoy. This nice addition is a real treat for all the fans of smaller more minor races in Star Trek. The NiHydron is a good port, and worth a play. Appearances tell you the ship and its textures are rather old, with areas of yellow grid which dont look to much like the original in my opinion. The modder has decided not to use bumps in this release which results in a very smooth unrealistic feel. I feel that bumps help any ship come to life, especially with older textures.

Nevertheless, the port is a good one. Coming with its own weapons, that appear to be finely balanced and accurate to Year Of Hell, the ship is remarkably similar to the original. Another great mod from Rudianos, and while his port is accurate and well executed, the ship itself is old and unfortunately it shows.

Star Trek: Legacy: Section 31 Venture Class
STLegacy reveals his Section 31 Venture Class. This mod includes a port of the ship, aswell as a retexture - The Federation one apparently on its way.

First looks at the ship make it an obvious retexture, its dark hull and yellow glows make it clear that its an S31 ship. The textures, however, I cant say I like. The hull is now so dark the details and speculars are quite hard to see, and the ship will seemingly vanish into the darkness of space or appear as a silhouette amongst nebulae and suns. The yellow glows I feel aren't entirely suitable either. Having the warp nacelles and the deflector the same colour seems odd, let alone them both being yellow.

The port, however, seems well executed. It contains all the basics you'd normally expect including bumps, specs, well placed hardpoints and so on. The ship doesn't contain logo's, but its probably logical for a Section 31 working on mysterious and secretive missions. The ship doesn't contain lights or break nodes, though these features are advanced.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Clean And Dirty Clone Trooper Skins
This file contains two clone trooper retextures. One is "clean." One is "dirty."

Both of them have unfortunately washed out details that the stock trooper skin has. The first one is really probably unnecessarily bright, while the second has just seen the author go to town with a photoshop brush.

Company of Heroes: Anti-Air Village
]A small 1 v 1 map which has the Flakvierling 38 anti-air guns availiable to use in pairs around the map, this is my first real map and upload, enjoy smile Anti-Air Village is split by a river, and liberally covered with Flak38's around every point worth keeping. The map itself is pretty good, apart from the severe lack of cover for infantry. If the Flak 38's were removed and some cover for infantry was added then this would be a pretty 2 player map.

However, As the AI doesn't use the Flaks all you need to do is run around grabbing them all (especially seeing as the top base is virtually surrounded) and you win by default as the AI can't get out of it's base. As long as you didn't have Victory Points set as the winning condition that is, because there are no victory points set on the map.

Company of Heroes: Archelous River (6)
The popular 4-players MP map "Archelous River" was transformed into a high-performance multiplayer map for 6 players. 2 Fuel sectors (one on each starting side) was removed and 2 new player positions were added. To get enough space for them, some entity and territory sectors were moved. The fact that the fuel income is very low if one team does not controle ony island prevents matches to become endless because the isolated players got enough fuel to build some very hard resistance.

A general lag or majority of resources is not present. Also, 2 new reinforcement routes were added to give the new players a realistic map entry position for call-in abillities.
Those players who liked the classic 2v2 version of the map probably will have much fun with this 3v3 version of it. As the author says, this is Archelous River for 6 players. Those that like the static, campy artillery spam game style of this map will likely like this. Conversely those that don't, won't.

Company of Heroes: River of Tears
This is my first Company of Heroes map submission. I recognize there is room for improvements. Lots of room for ground details. To be honest I got tired of working this map and wanted to submit something for review and suggestions. It works well with Eastern Front MOD too. The premise is the Germans have established a fortress town. Well defended. There are 2 paths across rvier. Netiher can be destroyed. I find it funnest to play as Germans and have one other German ally. The try and win against 3 Russian or mixed allies.

River of Tears is a 6 player map, divided into two halves. The bottom has more resources, but the top is defended by half a dozen 88's, artillery pieces and mg bunkers covering the only paths over the river. This is very, very definitely a skirmish only map. The top will always win if the artillery pieces are manned (which the AI doesn't know how to do)

Empire at War: Invasion Of The Hillside
I've always enjoyed siege maps, regardless of game type (RTS, FPS, Fat Princess, etc.). So I saw this map and immediately wanted to like it. Curse my idealism! Not that this map is terrible... it just needs a bacta injection of sorts. Let's get the less than desirable parts out of the way first. There aren't any mineral processors. Although there are some maps (very, very few) that can get away with no mineral processors because of their nature, I don't see this as one of them. The siege nature of this map almost calls for the opposite, a limitless supply of credits being funneled into each teams account. My other major nitpick is that team 1 doesn't get an energy generator, although they have turbo lasers. Being a siege style map, there should be more defenses for the enemy to break through rather than fewer.

The good: I really like the general layout of this map. Rather than your standard bases on each end of the map, you've got the defenders on top of a hill in the center of the map with only one way to get there by land. The prop usage is good and makes me feel like I'm in the desert (why are we fighting over this sand covered rock?). So the potential is there, just a bit more work needs to go into it.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City: 1955 HV Map Addon
Here is a 1955 map for the Back to the Future modification for GTA Vice City, this will only work for the BTTF 0.2e R2 verison of the modification. This will add the 1955 year to the game and make it slightly more realisitic if you go back in time to that year.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Dantooine: Rebel Base
Jaspo brings us a map of the Rebel base on Dantooine briefly mentioned in Ep IV. In standard Jaspo style it's made of mostly custom models, with a few others thrown in to complete the setting.
The map is a combination of grassy fields, enclosed spaces and building interiors. While I'm not a big fan of the texturing work on some of the buildings all in all it's consistant and makes a believable environment. There are some nifty (although a bit glitchy) features like elevators leading from the surface to the bases interior, and on the visual side of things some of the tunnels are pretty nice.

Gameplay wise the map is decent but not great. The conquest matches are pretty one sided, with almost all the fighting focusing on the central base and courtyards. The AI seem to be a bit slow too - in the too central base CPs they tend to stand around doing not a lot (to the author - this might have been caused by barriers being too close together). A few things worth mentioning gameplay wise are the inclusion of vehicles in an underground hangar (which you can drive but not get anywhere, unless I'm missing something) and the AI succesfully using the ground/underground elevators.
Flag mode works pretty well and is more evenly matched, and not that many custom maps include it so somethng for anyone who likes it.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Imperial Shipyard
"Imperial Shipyard," by ps2owner, is a small-ish map set on a hilly planet with a semi-industrial feeling.

Normally, I'd like to get a more extensive set of opinions on a map, but this one was difficult - it tends to crash a minute or so into the map. It looks like some memory error, and it seems to be pretty consistent, although it is not triggered by one specific event (my guess would be a water memory pool error, which is a tough one to nail down a specific cause). As a result, it's tough to get much beyond the initial impression.

It's an okay map, and the design is a nice idea. There seem to be a lot of empty command posts (having a large row of command posts with only the two ends being controlled at the start is basically just a waste of time). There is a choice made to have big, honking vehicle models for the CP holograms, which is at least unique, if not a little odd and distracting. The biggest thing, though, is of course the crashing shortly after starting. It makes enjoying any bit of a map very difficult.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Star Destroyer Prison Block
"Star Destroyer Prison Block" is the first map of darthfipris, and easily the best thing about it is that there is nary a Yavin sky to be seen.

That said, it is most definitely a first map, and it definitely looks like something that the author worked on for about a day - as the author himself advertises in the readme! Before moving into any real criticism, a tip: if you've worked on something for "less than a day," you haven't put any real effort into it. Try just a little harder.

Anyway, the map itself is basically Death Star prison block tunnels grafted on to a stock space Imperial Star Destroyer. As the author mentions, there's zero planning, so there's AI running into walls aplenty. There's not a lot of point to killing AI trapped in corners, and there's not a lot of point to trying to capture CPs, since fewer than half of the CPs can actually be captured. I suppose you could go flying around in the fighters, but there's really nothing to shoot at.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Street Battle
Flake26's "Street Battle" is what it is - a battle in the streets of some Naboo-lookalike planet. It's a first map, and for a first map, it's not bad.

Yes, it is a little derivative. Yes, I could pass on ever seeing a map that uses Naboo buildings whole-hock to make a city like this again. Technically, though, it definitely does check off a decent amount of the boxes I like to see checked for doing a first map right. It doesn't use a Yavin sky. It isn't missing planning, at least not in any incredibly notable ways. It is pretty proficient in its object placement, and the author did try to do something neat with the Endor walkways in some parts of the level.

It's not incredible, of course - it is visually pretty boring. The sides are a little "eh?" - they're close enough to stock sides that I kind've wish they'd just been left as stock sides for familiarity's sake. I'd like to see a lot more done in terms of unique texturing and creative use of assets - the Naboo buildings are so incredibly overused, and while I know they make good starter city props, maps like this will always have a tough time standing out.

Warcraft III: Lord of the Clans
A Warcraft 3 campaign based on the popular Warcraft novel Lord of the Clans.

2.The campaign (mini-spoiler):
Thrall's Story should be interesting for everybody who hasn't read Christie Golden's Lord of the Clans, from which I had the Idea to create this campaign. It's about his journey from slave to becoming warchief of the horde. At the same time you can look at it as a direct prequel to the Warcraft 3-Training/Demo-Campaign because his story is continued there. Unfortunately I couldn't copy the book 100%. For example: there will be only minor discussions about the orcs' eye color, the liked Gladiator-Fights will only appear in a short cinematic and the important character Sergeant had to be cut out. All in all I wanted the campaign to be as playable as possible, otherwise I could have done a cinematic-series. But don't be afraid, there is enough to read, maybe too much big grin Some stats: 11, Maps, 3 of which are cinematic-only, with at least 5 hours of playtime.

Warcraft III: The Last Guardian
The campaign follows the story of the book "The Last Guardian", written by Jeff Grubb. During the Warcraft 1 period, young Khadgar becomes apprentive of Medivh and unveils the hideous machinery behind the orcs' coming. Like DotD and LotD I don't follow the story 100%ly, to support gameplay, otherwise I could have made a cinematic series as well. The campaign contains 10 maps. 7 normal, 3 cinematics. There are no optional quests. The gameplay is strictly linear and you control mostly only Khadgar from fixed camera perspectives. You solve riddles, fight monsters now and then, combine items and have conversations.
